Hello, I’m Ahya Jung, a Korean hairstylist at Jungsung Hair in Singapore.
I began my career in Korea and have since had the opportunity to work with clients from many different backgrounds in Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore. Over more than 10 years as a professional hairstylist, these experiences have taught me that the most beautiful hairstyle is not simply the latest trend—it is the one that feels naturally right for each individual.
My career began at Felia Hair in Busan, Korea, where I developed a strong foundation in Korean cutting, perming and colouring techniques. I also gained experience in Korean bridal hair and makeup before continuing my career at Korean hair salons in Hong Kong. After moving to Singapore, I worked as a Senior Stylist at LeeKaJa Beauty Salon in Orchard.
Throughout my career, I have continued to develop my skills through professional training with Zone & Section, L’Oréal Professionnel, Wella and Shiseido. Working across Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore has also allowed me to understand a wide range of face shapes, hair textures, lifestyles and styling preferences.
MY APPROACH TO HAIR DESIGN
What matters most to me is creating a hairstyle that suits you—not simply recreating a style because it is trending.
Before recommending a haircut, perm or colour, I take time to understand your face shape, hair texture, hair condition, skin tone, personal style and daily routine. I believe that a thoughtful consultation is the beginning of every successful hairstyle.
My goal is to enhance your natural features and create a design that feels soft, balanced and easy to wear. Your hairstyle should look beautiful when you leave the salon, but it should also remain manageable when you style it yourself at home.
MY SIGNATURE STYLES
I specialise in Korean layered cuts and face-framing haircuts that softly complement the shape of the face.
By carefully adjusting the position and length of each layer, I create natural volume and movement without making the hair feel too heavy or difficult to manage. I also consider how the hair will look both when worn down and when tied up, so the overall shape remains flattering in everyday life.
For clients who want more volume and movement, I recommend natural Korean perms such as volume layered perms, digital perms and soft wave perms. Rather than creating curls that feel overly strong or difficult to style, I focus on controlled volume, soft movement and an effortless finish.
Hair colour is another important part of the overall design. I especially enjoy creating soft brown shades that complement the client’s skin tone and personal atmosphere. From matte and neutral browns to warm or cool-toned colours, I carefully select a shade that helps the complexion appear brighter while keeping the hair refined and natural.
